MARC JACOBS BEAUTY: DEW DROPS COCONUT GEL HIGHLIGHTER

In all honesty I didn’t even know Marc Jacobs had a beauty line. It completely wasn’t on my radar or never in my beauty chest for that matter. Since discovering Marc Beauty Highlighter, it has become a staple item in my everyday makeup. My other highlighters in the future have a lot to live up to. As soon as I opened the box, the packaging drew me in, but the formula kept me.

MARC JACOBS BEAUTY: DEW DROPS COCONUT GEL HIGHLIGHTER

The Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter, was released on March 3 I believe. I however didn’t receive it from Influenster until April 7th. After opening up the package and swatching it, I can honestly say this stuff is a gold mine. This Marc Jacobs highlighter is one of the prettiest liquid highlighters I’ve ever seen. In addition to using it as a highlighter, it can also be used as an eyeshadow. You can mix the highlighter with your primer, foundation or even apply it to your cheeks, cupids bow and nose.

The packaging is everything! It comes in a frosted glass bottle with a chrome top. This alone shows me that Marc Beauty took a lot of time on branding this product. The shade comes in one color called Dew You? – golden peach. Before blending it out, the color is more a beige, but after it’s blended you begin to see the true golden color. I believe it will work for most if not all skin tones, but I can definitely say it works for 3y08 skin tones which is me, medium skin with warm undertones.

As far as the formula goes it’s great. It’s thicker than most liquid highlighters so a little goes a long way. The highlighter is suppose to smell like coconuts, but I disagree. The consistency is gel like, which makes it easier to blend. Once it dries it doesn’t smudge and stays exactly where you put it for an all day wear. I wiped my face to see if any came off and it didn’t, if it was a powder highlighter it would have.

For $44, you get a .8oz bottle. The price is a little high compared to other liquid highlighters because you’re paying for high in packaging and a high-end brand. But I believe it’s worth it because it hydrates your skin while illuminating it at the same time. It also doesn’t have parabens, sulfates, or phthalates in it which are things I try to avoid as much as possible. Overall I’m pleased with this product and before Influenster sent it to me to try, it was already in my Sephora cart to purchase.

*I received these products complimentary from Influenster and Marc Jacobs Beauty for testing purposes.*

It looks gorgeous. I wonder if it will look good on darker tones, or come out too ashy? I’ll have to look for it on my next department store trip!

Great review!! 🙂 So I normally rock hard with my Nars Albatros but maybe I will need to give this little number a go. Will you be doing a makeup tutorial on how you use this specific highlighter? Why?? because I am always trying to learn how to get my skills on point and might need a class or too in order to really get the best out of this highlighter.

Thanks for sharing and please let me know a sister need help with her makeup skills!

    • I was rocking my Anastasia Beverly Hill Highlight palette hard. I’m still going to rock it but I think I’ll rock this Marc Jacobs Highlight more. But a makeup look is coming soon to my YouTube channel.

Love this!! Looks beautiful. The only liquid highlighters I have tried are the cover fx ones. How do you think this compares? I love that it’s a little thicker, I feel like that makes it a lot easier to control.

    Great post! 🙂

    • I feel as far as pigmented they’re both on the same playing field. They both give you that perfect Highlight. But I don’t like how liquid the cover fx ones are but other than that they’re amazing. The Marc Jacobs Highlighter makes it easier to control/ stay where you put it before blending it out.
